EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT
It shall be the policy of Gage County School District No. 34 to development and maintain a workplace environment where the employment, promotion, or discharge or any person shall based upon that individual's preparation or past or present meritorious performance and not upon an individual's race, sex, color, religion, disability, or national origin. Furthermore, this school district shall not show preferential treatment to any employee based upon the employee's membership, or lack of membership, to any labor organization or his or her association with any employment association. It shall be the policy of this school district to employ individuals that best meet the job descriptions and/or the needs of the students of this school district as determined by the school administration and the board of education.
It shall be the responsibility of all individuals who apply for positions with this school district or who are already district employees to see that their applications or personnel files reflect a true and accurate accounting of their formal academic preparation, past work experiences, or other job-related activities.
Individuals responsible for reviewing applications from prospective employees shall not make inquiry into the race, color, religion, sex, disability, or national origin of any individual applying for employment with this school district.
Nebraska statutes do not require affirmative action to correct imbalances based upon race, color, religion, sex, disability, or national origin.
No student attending Gage County School District No. 34 shall, on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving district financial assistance or which has been approved to operate or represent the school district. No person shall, based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, or national origin be discriminated against:
I. In having access to courses or subjects.
II.In the field of physical education.
III.In counseling policies and practices.
IV.In the field of vocational education.
V.In areas of insurance benefits, health services, employment assistance, honors and awards, extracurricular activities, behavior codes and dress codes, hiring practices, promotional practices, job assignment, disciplinary rules, pay scales marital status, and parental status.
