New Ag Classes To Be Offered in 2005-2006 School Year

Two new ag classes will be offered during the 2005-2006 school year. Agronomy and Small Animal Care and Management will replace the current Comprehensive Ag class. The change has been encouraged by the ag advisory board, administration, and Mr. Jensen because students can then have the flexibility to take the ag classes of their choosing after their freshman year.
Another new class to be offered during the 2005-06 school year is Ag Research. This class is for junior or senior students who have an interest in an area of agriculture that they would like to learn more about. At the beginning of the quarter, each student will set goals they would like to achieve and work towards those goals throughout the quarter. Only two students will be allowed to take Ag Research each period of the day because of limited computer use in the ag room.
“The biggest opportunity I wanted to provide students is flexibility,” said Mr. Jensen. “Flexibility in scheduling and flexibility of classes. With these changes, I think any student with an interest in agriculture can find a class for them during their time in high school.”
