Freeman FFA Successful at District CDE's
Five Teams Qualify for State

Thirty members of the Freeman FFA chapter traveled to Southeast Community-College in Beatrice on Tuesday, February 22nd to compete in the district Career Development Events.
A total of five Freeman teams qualified for state. They are as follows:
Meats Evaluation - 2nd place team (Ashley Weyers - 4th place individual, Elyse Schlake - 5th place individual, Emily Jurgens)
Ag Sales - 3rd place team (Kristin Kroese, Stacie Goracke, Steph Dorn, Melissa Hottovy)
Ag Science - 2nd place team (Jaycie Vanderbeek - 2nd place individual (tie), Jerod Nieveen - 10th place individual, Blake Ebbers - 8th place individual, Denae Wolken - 3rd place individual)
Ag Science - 3rd place team (Katie Schoen - 9th place individual, Erin Dorn, Megan Milke - 2nd place individual, Shanon Fittje)
Nursery and Landscape - 2nd place team (Andy Stanley - 2nd place individual, Brent Heble - 4th place individual, Michelle Horstman - 8th place individual)
There were also several other individuals that performed well in their events. They include:
Tony Buhr - 4th place - GMAW Welding
Dustin Wallman - 5th place - Arc Welding
Dalten Krause - 20th place out of 80 individuals - Junior Livestock Judging
Tim Nieveen - 10th place out of 25 individuals - Farm Management
“The students did really well today, and I was impressed,” said Mr. Jensen. “Their hard work paid off, but I think we also realize that we have to continue working hard to get good results at State Convention.”
