Seeds of Hope Campaign Hits Freeman FFA Chapter

FFA Chapter to Help Ag Ed Programs Hit by Katrina

by Tony Jensen

September 18, 2005

Seeds of Hope campaign, started by the National FFA Organization, is an organized effort to provide financial support for the agriculture education and FFA programs in the areas damaged by Hurricane Katrina. All funds raised will benefit those areas rebuild and get back on their feet in the coming months.

The Freeman FFA is participating in this campaign by donating all lollipop sales throughout the next three home football games and one volleyball game. The FFA chapter is also accepting donations from any individual who is willing to donate to this cause.

"By participating in this campaign, we hope to do our part to contribute to the rebuilding effort to the ag and FFA programs which lost everything to Hurricane Katrina," said Mr. Jensen. "The biggest thing students can learn from this is that we need to help others, as we would want the help if a tragedy like this happened here."
