Freeman FFA Hosts Fun Run & Walk

On Saturday, August 19th, the Freeman FFA held the first annual Fun Run/Walk, which had a 1-mile and 3-mile course. Thirty-two participants showed up for the events: 18 adults and 14 students. The officer team utilized this event to raise money for park beautification projects and promote health and wellness in the community. Jamie Buhr, Jacob Unvert, Taylor Hesseltine, Jasmine Hagemeier, Kristin Kroese, Jerod Nieveen, Matt Nieveen, Erin Dorn, Melissa Hottovy, and Stacie Goracke were the FFA members that helped out with the event. The participants received door prizes after their run or walk, and the Freeman FFA made about $160 towards the beautification of the park.
For the first year, this was a great turnout, said Mr. Jensen. The weather was great, and this event will help us to do projects at the park in the future.
