Wrestlers Compete at ECNC Tourney

5th Place Finish with Six Medalist

Freeman had 15 wrestlers compete in the ECNC Tourney on Friday, February 3, and medal six wrestlers along with two 5 th places and one 6 th place.  The tournament was run with pool format, which gave the wrestlers 4-5 matches.  This was the first year Freeman competed in this tournament.    Chandler Brandert (152) won his weight division, and pinned all five opponents.   Scott Adams (220) received a silver medal and won three matches by pin and another by a decision of 5-4.   Freeman had three 3 rd place winners in Mitch Hesseltine (145), Austin Ruskamp (160), and Gerrit . . . read more

Freeman Girls Finish 2nd in Pioneer Conference Tournament—Prepare for Post Season

The Freeman Lady Falcons finished 2nd at the Pioneer Conference Tournament this past week, losing to the Friend Lady Bulldogs on Friday, Feb. 3rd.   The Bulldogs were able to control the tempo of the game early and pushed the lead at half time to 29-17.  In the second half, the Lady Falcons were able to close the gap to 3 points twice, but each time the Lady Bulldogs were able to make key shots en-route to a 48-42 victory.  “The girls fought hard until the end and made some big shots in the second half,” Said . . . read more

Freeman Moving Towards Open Office

Freeman Public Schools has made the decision to remove the Microsoft Office Professional Software from all of our student computers with the exception of the business lab and move to the Open Office Suite.  The major push behind this decision is financial.  Microsoft announced a price increase for school districts from $53.00 per computer to $148.00 per computer.  This move to Open Office will save the school district approximately $20,868, which would be the cost of getting into compliance with Microsoft Licensing. . . . read more
