Girls Finish 4th in Mudecas Class A Track Meet

The Freeman track teams enjoyed a beautiful day as they competed in the Mudecas Class A Track Meet held at Johnson County Central. HTRS just edged out Johnson County Central 107 points to 102.5 points to earn the Class A Championship. Pawnee City finished in third with 76 points and Freeman finished in fourth with 62 points. Going into the meet the girls had a goal of finishing in the top four and they were able to accomplish that with only nine girls competing. Every girl stepped up and did what they could for the team today and Coach Renken was very proud of their efforts.
Denae Wolken put in a lot of miles for the team yesterday and won three events. She won the 800 meters in a time of 2:28.8, won the mile in a time of 5:56.4, and won the 2 mile in a time of 14:12.3. The 400 meter relay team of Jasmine Hagemeier, Sara Marker, Bailey Buhr, and Jenna Vanderbeek also earned a first place finish with a time of 56.4. Megan Milke ran the 400 meters in a time of 65.9 for a second place finish and she was third in the 100 meters with a time of 13.7. The 1600 meter relay team members, Jasmine Hagemeier, Amber Mason, Denae Wolken, and Bailey Buhr finished fourth with a time of 4:48.8. Bailey Buhr placed in two individual events. She was fifth in the mile with a time of 6:36.1 and 6th in the 800 with a time of 2:48.2. Jasmine Hagemeier scored in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.2, which earned her 6th place.
In the Boys A division Pawnee City ran away with the meet by scoring 150 points to HTRS's 87.5 points. Finishing in third with 87 points was Nebraska City Lourdes Central. Ryan Busboom was the only medalist for the boy's team. He leaped 18' in the long jump for a 6th place finish.
The Falcons will finish out their busy week by competing Friday in the Lewiston Invite which will be held at Nebraska Wesleyan this year.
