Falcons Compete in Cougar Invite

The Falcons traveled to Conestoga High School on Tuesday to compete in the Cougar Invite. Wilber-Claytonia won the girls meet with 135 points, Lincoln Lutheran was second with 95 points and Elmwood-Murdock scored 74 points to finish in third. The Freeman girls scored 22 points which placed them 8th in the ten team meet. Denae Wolken was a double gold winner on Tuesday. She won the 400 meters in a time of 63.6 and won the 800 meters in a time of 2:29.6. Bailey Buhr placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 67.0.
Plattview won the boys' division with 100 points. The Freeman boys medaled in three events and scored 5 points. Ryan Busboom leaped 20' in the long jump for a fifth place finish. Jerod Nieveen earned a fifth place finish in triple jump with a mark of 39' 9" and the boys 400 meter relay team of Jerod Nieveen, Ryan Busboom, Matt Nieveen, and Cody O'Grady finished in a time of 47.8 seconds for a sixth place finish.
The Falcons will travel to Auburn on Saturday to compete in the Pioneer Conference Track Meet. Field Events will begin at 9:00 a.m. and running events are scheduled to start at 11:00.
