First Grade Field Trip to Beatrice

by Lisa Riha

May 05, 2008

The Freeman First Grade Classes traveled to Beatrice for their Field Trip this year.  We were very busy while in Beatrice.  We had four different spots to visit.  First Graders visited the Beatrice Public Library.  While there, they had a tour of where the children’s books were located and listened to stories about Japan.  Then we visited First National Beatrice Bank.  The students were given a tour of the bank and were able to see how they counted change and money using the machines.  They also were able to see the vault.  The next stop was the Beatrice Community Hospital.  First Graders learned what it would be like if they had to ever go to the hospital.  They acted out a scenario where they were the patient, doctor, and nurse.  The final stop for the day was the Beatrice Police Department.  We got a tour of the dispatch room and were able to look at a police car.  Even though the day we went to Beatrice was rainy, First Graders still had a Great time!
