Ag Students Tour Ethanol Plant
E-Energy Adams Hosts Ag Lab, Welding Classes
May 09, 2008
Two ag lab classes and one welding class at Freeman High School toured E-Energy Adams on Wednesday, April 30th. The group arrived and received a welcome from Bob Miller, plant manager. Then, the ethanol plant employees took the groups around to see the different aspects of the ethanol production process. The students saw truck and rail cars being loaded with dried distiller grains, the main control panels of the ethanol plant, and the testing lab.
"This is a very interesting process that students can relate to," said Mr. Jensen, Freeman agriculture instructor. "By touring the plant, I think the students can see how many careers and skill-sets are necessary to operate an ethanol plant. Careers in microbiology, welding and maintenance, and agribusiness all come together to operate a successful plant."
