The Freeman Falcon high school and junior high football coaching staffs hosted football camps for athletes entering grades seven through twelve the week of July 21st at the football field in Adams.

The camps consisted of introducing basic fundamentals in the areas of offense, defense and
special teams. Team concepts and basic execution of all three phases were also implemented.

On Tuesday, July 22nd, Cory Schlesinger, a fullback on the 1994 Nebraska national championship team and 12 year NFL veteran fullback of the Detroit Lions was a guest coach at the camp.

Cory spent time working with the athletes during agility drills, coaching running back fundamentals and teaching blocking techniques. He concluded the session by talking with the students about his past experiences as a student-athlete in the classroom and on the field. He emphasized the importance of being a focused, hard working student in the classroom, being dedicated with your time and effort, eating correctly, and making good choices for yourself and your team.

Cory is now retired from the NFL and is entering the teaching profession.
