Apple Time in the Kindergarten Room
October 03, 2009
We’ve all noticed the abundance of apples in the stores, and the Kindergarten classes of Mrs. Marker and Mrs. Nieveen have been taking advantage of the many different kinds with lots of different activities centered around the juicy, delicious treats. Some of the activities done in the rooms included reading stories about Johnny Appleseed, measuring and weighing apples, describing and writing about apples using our five senses, graphing which apple they liked the best, and making apple prints on paper. At the end of the week, Mrs. Marker and Mrs. Nieveen’s classes used their cooking skills to make homemade applesauce and apple crisp. They used an apple peeler and each had a turn to peel the apples and eat the skins. The Kindergarteners were GREAT cooks!
