Wild, Wild West

2010 Jr.-Sr. Prom A Huge Success

May 11, 2010

The “Wild Wild West” themed prom was held on Saturday, April 24th in the Nebraska Banquet Room at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln.  The junior class put a lot of work into making it the huge success that it was.

Fundraising started early in the fall with magazine sales and promoting new and renewal subscriptions of The Voice newspaper.  They also helped with the “Split the Pot” fundraiser during basketball games.  The turnout at January’s potato and ice cream bar was fantastic and helped them break their money making goal for the year.  We appreciate all the support from patrons in our fundraising efforts, we couldn’t do it without you!

They spent many hours preparing for prom day to arrive and it started early.  The junior class met at the Event Center at 8:00 am to begin decorating.  Then many were off to hair and nail appointments, picking up corsages and tuxes, leaving them tight on time to get ready for pictures.

The junior and senior classes met at locations to do informal class pictures before heading to Lincoln to start the official festivities.  Anderson Studios took individual, couple, and class pictures in the banquet room before the dinner began.

Chef Paul Johnson from Lancaster Event Center Catering set us up with a two meat buffet and DJ services were provided by Joe from Craig Estudillo Entertainment.  The junior class cleaned up after the dance ended at 11:30.  Then the students headed back to Freeman to participate in the post prom activities, sponsored by the junior parents.

The staff at Lancaster Event Center and the music DJ at prom both commented that they really enjoyed working with Freeman students.  The students were said to be respectful and well behaved and the administration and teachers in attendance couldn’t agree more.
