Freeman Junior High Girls Win #5

Lewiston visited the Freeman gym for a pair of basketball games against the Freeman junior high girls’ basketball team.  Action opened with the Falcon A-team building a 12-2 first quarter lead against the Tigers.  At halftime, the score was 20-11.  Freeman was able to shut Lewiston out in the third but only managed five points themselves.  By the end of the game, Lewiston had outscored Freeman in the second half, but the Falcons racked up a 29-16 win. 

Megan Matthies and Cassidy Mason led Freeman with five points.  Katie Meyer, Jessica Larkins, and Marissa Haynes each added four.  Claire Richardson had three points while Chelsea Rapp and Alaina Huls each scored on a field goal.  Apryl Morris led Lewiston with seven.

The B-team got out to a 10-4 lead against the Tigers.  Lewiston tightened it up a bit by half, but the Falcons still carried a 12-10 edge.  Freeman scored seven and allowed only two in the third as they built a 19-13 lead.  Each team scored a field goal in the fourth to make the final 21-15. 

Jessica Larkins led Freeman with six.  Hannah Neil and Taylor Sugden had four each.  Alaina Huls and Taylor Heier had two each.  Oliva Alberts had a free throw and the team was given credit for two points.  Brianna Barker led Lewiston with 10.
