FREEMAN SPEECHERS DISTRICT RESULTS

The Freeman Speech Team competed with eight other schools on Saturday, February 27 at Meridian placing nine events in district finals with four events qualifying for state. Brownell-Talbot was the district champion; only two points separated the Freeman team and Meridian followed by NC Lourdes and Johnson-Brock. Alex Richardson is the District Entertainment Champion. Also earning a trip to the state speech contest are Shelby Koenig second place in Persuasive; Ashley Ayres third in Serious Prose; and Evan Buss, Anna Jurgens, Natalie Lenners and Amanda Wusk third in OID. Kristen Andersen tied for third in Persuasive, but preliminary points gave her fourth. Also placing fourth were KC Frohman in Poetry and Amanda Wusk and Natalie Lenners in Duet. Sixth place medals were awarded to Shelby Koenig in Extemporaneous and KC Frohman in Serious Prose. Earning superiors and adding to the team points were Kristen Andersen (2), Ashley Ayres (2), Evan Buss, KC Frohman (2), Anna Jurgens (2), Natalie Lenners (2), Amanda Wusk (2), Ashley Yates, Shelby Koenig (2), Madison Boddy, Andy Buhr, Abbey Klein, Alex Richardson, and Blake Lenners.
