Preschool Celebration!

Freeman Preschool students got dressed up and had a great time celebrating Halloween!  The students participated in games and crafts to strengthen their fine and gross motor skills and they had fun doing it!  Students were able to play candy corn bowling, spider web and monster toss, spider balance beam walk, shuck corn, and create a pumpkin and a mummy craft activity.  We also enjoyed a healthy snack and Halloween stories.  Thank you so much to all of our parents who helped out in the celebration!

Preschool students have also been working on print knowledge.  They are encouraged to find the title and author of the books that we read, as well as identify aspects of some words in the story.  Such as, how many words in the title, long versus short words, words that start with a certain letter, or how many syllables in the word.  These skills all lead to the future success of reading.

All of the preschoolers are also encouraged to develop independence in putting on their own coats, shoes and packing their own backpacks.  We are having a great year in the preschool room and are excited to see what the next quarter will bring!
