Freeman Preschool just celebrated their 100th day of school.  To celebrate we had a beach party, complete with beach balls, sand and water play!  Students were able to dress up and participate in several beach themed activities.  We got to dig for buried treasure in the sand table, color under water (well the art table covered with a blue table cloth anyway :), lay on the beach (don’t worry we remembered our sunscreen :), play in the water, make a fish and enjoy a healthy fruit salad for a snack.  We also enjoyed several beach themed stories.

Each activity was designed to help our students develop skills and explore and gain new knowledge.  By playing with water squirting toys and coloring under the table while laying on their backs, students are able to strengthen their fine motor skills.  While pretending to lay on the beach children were able to practice critical social skills and strengthen their play schemas.  While enjoying a snack children were able to taste different kinds of fruit and discuss their likes and dislikes (there were much more likes than dislikes, thankfully :).

Preschool provides an amazing opportunity for kids to learn and play at the same time.  They are developing and learning new skills without even knowing it!  Thank you so much to all of the parents for their support in making this a great preschool year!  Our students have grown so much and we are so proud of all of them!
