4th Grade Field Trip

On Thursday, October 6th , the Freeman 4th graders went on a field trip to the Filley Stone Barn and Homestead National Monument to spend a day exploring different aspects of pioneer life in Nebraska.  They were able to try many farm activities while at the Stone Barn, such as shucking and shelling corn, sawing wood, digging post holes, and even taking a horse drawn wagon ride. They were able to watch a blacksmith and marble maker work their trades. At the Homestead, they learned to sew, wash clothing, churn butter, and play with some pioneer toys. It was a fun day back in time!
