First Semester Celebrations in Preschool

Our first semester in preschool was filled with some fun and memorable moments.  Along with our daily centers and learning activities, preschoolers also celebrated with holiday parties and a Thanksgiving program.  One of our favorite themes was the Gingerbread Man.  During this unit, the children spent time reading many different gingerbread stories, practiced story re-telling, pretended in the bakery dramatic play center, and then decorated a class gingerbread man.  Our sneaky cookie ran away from us and took us on a hunt through the school. It was quite the adventure.  Some other semester highlights included guest readers, election voting with the high school, and a surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  Mr. Page stopped in with his guitar and shared some songs with us.  We were also very thankful for the quilts that Mrs. Marlene Bell made and gifted to each preschool child.  We are currently in the middle of our winter unit, but looking forward to some fun spring activities and weather.
