Students representing Freeman in the Gage County Spelling Contest were fifth grader Gabe VanEngen, and sixth graders Katie Unvert and Joslyn Schiebur.
Freeman Sixth Grader Wins Gage County Spelling Contest
The Gage County Spelling Contest was held on Saturday, February 13, at the Beatrice Public Library. The contest was divided into a fifth and sixth grade division and a seventh and eighth grade division. Participating from Freeman in the fifth and sixth grade division were fifth grader Gabe VanEngen and sixth graders Joslyn Schiebur and Katie Unvert.
The fifth grade alternate was Samantha Pella, while the sixth grade alternates were Kylie Lawson and Holden Scott.
Sixth grader Joslyn Schiebur captured first place in the fifth and sixth grade division. She will move on to the District competition in Seward, Nebraska on February 20. Congratulations to all three of our students who represented Freeman Public Schools in the spelling contest. You did a fantastic job! Best of luck Joslyn in the District Spelling Contest!
