Students and Parents can view graduation progress through PowerSchool!
August 18, 2011
Students in grades 9-12 and their parents can now check Freeman graduation status on PowerSchool. When a student or parent logs into PowerSchool simply click on the icon Class Registration, you will see a blue link called “View Graduation Progress.” Students and parents can click on this link to see what classes they have completed for graduation requirements and what departments still require hours. The 2012 will see current graduation requirements, while the class of 2013 and younger will see the newly implemented requirements.
In addition to the Freeman graduation check, students can also click on several different career clusters to view classes that are recommended in high school to assure stronger success in post-secondary training. To do this, click on blue link at top of page that states: “Select Post Secondary Plans.” Students can then see what classes they have taken and what classes they should take. These are recommendations taken from the website www.nebraskacareerconnections.org. These recommendations in turn come from the Nebraska Department of Education. Freeman is fortunate to have a wide variety of courses and offerings, but some recommendations you will find on the website have not been included if it is not a course offered at Freeman.
I would encourage parents and students to sit down together and explore this new option. This is new to our school and “tweaking” is still taking place. So if you see something that you’re not sure about or maybe you are not getting credit for a class you have taken, please notify Mrs. Kelly.
Currently students cannot request classes through PowerSchool.
