🙏🏻Thank you to everyone who wore red and blue today to show support for the Larson kiddos during Batten Disease Awareness Day! One of the beautiful things about Freeman is that when one family needs support, everyone jumps in. ❤️💙 ❤️To help her classmates better understand some of the changes and challenges that can come with Batten’s disease, Everest gave a presentation to her grade about how she uses her cane, how to read braille, and some of the things they may notice during the school day. She even helped the students complete a braille worksheet so they could experience a little hands-on learning, too! What an incredible way to teach kindness, understanding, and empathy. 💙Alaska’s 4th grade class also showed up in support today, helping remind the Larson family just how loved and supported they are. A huge shoutout as well to Mrs. Pfeiffer, Mrs. Campbell, and Miss Fisher for being such an incredible team for these kiddos, and to all of the other staff and classroom teachers and students who help support them along the way. Your kindness, patience, and love do not go unnoticed! One thing is for sure, the love and support surrounding this family is felt by all. We love you, Larson family! 🫶 #WeAreFreeman🐦

Congratulations to Addison Kastanek and Alicia Johansen, 1st Team All-State Selections in both the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald! This morning, their legacy was honored with the hanging of their individual plaques on our Wall of Champions!

The JH State Reading Rally team earned a trip to Scooters and Barnes and Noble while 8 fourth graders completed reading all 10 Nebraska Golden Sower books and had breakfast at McDonalds and the bookstore!
