Over the past two days, our 1st–6th grade students had the incredible opportunity to take part in not just one, but TWO special author visits! 📚✨ Our 5th–6th graders were lucky enough to have an in-person visit with Deborah Hopkinson, a talented historical fiction author. She shared her passion for storytelling and history, and our students loved learning about her writing process and the inspiration behind her books! Meanwhile, our 1st–4th graders enjoyed a fun and engaging virtual visit with Suzanne Lang, the author of the beloved Grumpy Monkey series. She brought so much energy and creativity, and our younger students had a blast connecting with a story they know and love! What an amazing couple of days celebrating reading, writing, and the power of stories. We are so grateful for these opportunities for our students! 💙📖 #WeAreFreeman🐦

All of Freeman’s staff take pride in what they do and that includes our incredible bus drivers! They truly know your kids, what they love, and care about them deeply. A huge shoutout to one of our drivers, Greg, who went above and beyond to make our friend Ashton’s day! If you know Big A, you know his love for all things airplanes…so when Greg surprised him with a small model airplane, it absolutely made his whole week. ✈️ Thank you, Greg, and all of our bus drivers for loving our students so well and for being such an important part of their lives. 💙 #WeAreFreeman🐦

🌳Nemaha Natural Resources District Plant-A-Tree program. 🌱💚Each year, the Nemaha NRD provides one free sapling to every third-grade student in our district. Along with the tree, a member of the Nemaha NRD visited our third graders to give a short, age-appropriate presentation on how to plant and care for the new tree. #WeAreFreeman🐦
